C&G is BACK!

Iowa State University's very own Cardinal and Gold Advertising has officially started up again! Our first meeting involved 3 participants in August, now we have about 10 regular members and are still growing.

One of our first Ad competitions involves the production of Ethanol. We've made it into the finals and are currently 2nd in standings! It's currently still open for voting, so to support our video and our C&G group, please visit the video on Youtube and 'LIKE' the video!

Those of us at C&G thank you for your support.

This is a long time coming but here is an update.
This semester we have great new group of committed and talented students who are devoting there time to C&G. Most of them are from Greenlee but we have a few from the design school working on the creative team. We are working with three clients this semester. Ad Club, creative only, First Amendment Day, a complete marketing plan, and Cyebuild a groups of students rebuilding Iowa. We are also working on getting C&G looking more professional. We are creating a official leave behind to give out in new business pitches. It is actually more difficult than we though it would be to put down who we think we are and what we want to achieve on paper than we had thought. Any suggestions?
Next week we have another meeting with First Amendment Day where hopefully we will get enough information to start writing a creative briefs.
This is Emily the new President/media director sining off for
Sara the new account manager and
Ben the new creative director.

No I haven't forgotten about this blog, there was really nothing to report last semester. Although this semester is looks as though we have a couple of clients lined up. I am really excited for this semester and looking forward to the challenge.

This is summary of our assignment:

At last night's meeting we discussed who our clients are going to be. We have the opportunity this semester to work with a client that is from the Ames community. Attached is the background information of the event and a description of the work that our client would like from us. As of now we will be meeting with the client on Tuesday the 29th at 7:30.

I would like everyone to look over the background sheet and conduct some secondary research about the event and Cystic Fibrosis. Please come prepared to take notes and ask insightful questions. We are going to meeting at 6:30 before the client comes in to go over what everyone has found and build a discussion from that.

It's been awhile

So it has been awhile since the last post mainly because there is nothing to write about. I have been very busy with the start of school and we have no clients yet. Hopefully tomorrow we will be drafting a new business proposal to send out to groups on campus. I have been receiving questions from people asking where the applications are located. They are on the wall board by the Daily door in Hamilton Hall. There is no deadline on when they need to be turned in, but I would suggest getting it in sooner rather than later. Hopefully things start rolling and this blog will have a purpose again.

I need your help

In order for the agency to live up to its mission I need you to help decide which direction we take this semester. Please let me know what you think we need to do and if you have any comments feel free to leave them. Thank you and I'll see you in August.

Greenlee Presentation

I am the worst kind of blogger, it has been awhile since there was an update. I guess there was a lot going on in the past two weeks VEISHEA and now finals.

Last night we made our pitch to the Greenlee School of Journalism and Mass Communication. We presented our plan along with some rough creative work. Overall the client wanted our ideas for how they could improve their web presence and ideas for updating their print materials. The client was pleased with the material presented, although I should mention this is a work in progress. They need to present and get approval from the faculty before anything gets set into motion.

I want to thank all of the students who devoted their time and energy to this campaign.

I would also like to thank Lindsay Gilbert and Kim McDonough for giving C&G the opportunity to work with them. This has been a great learning experience. Thank you.

Amp'd Bus Ads

I finally saw the Amp'd for Innovation bus ad. It was kind of crazy to see something that we created is now up and all around for everyone to see. So this is the biz? Just kidding.
